Elsa’s Castle Cake
As a cake decorator, one theme you can’t avoid is Frozen. Every young girl wants a frozen cake for her birthday. After a while, it tends to get tiring, that is until you see a concept which excites your creativity. That was the case with this Elsa’s castle frozen-themed cake. When I was asked to make this cake I got very excited as it is a design I had seen in the past and wanted desperately to recreate it. Now that I have executed this design, I am already thinking about various other ways of modifying it. Do watch out for those modifications.
This cake is technically a 2 tier cake although there is a smaller tier on top of the top tier. The top tier is a 7 inch coconut sponge cake frosted with coconut buttercream. The bottom tier is a 9 inch French vanilla sponge cake frosted with vanilla buttercream. All the design work was carried out with marshmallow fondant using my dry fondant paneling method.
A tutorial on how this cake was made can be found here. Below are other views of it.
