Pastel Colored Birthday Cake
This cake was made for a lady who loves cool pastel colors. She wanted a cake shaped like a hexagon executed in green and yellow. She also wanted stencil designs done on the cake. I decided to make something regal looking with pearls, drapes and brooches. It was well received.
The cake inside is a Nigerian cake frosted with vanilla buttercream. Most of the design work was done with marshmallow fondant.
The body of the cake was stenciled with royal icing. I have a post here on how to stencil a cake using royal icing.
On top of the cake is a magnolia flower. I have a tutorial here on how I made it. The cake also features a pearl necklace. A tutorial on how to make that can be found here.
