Red Bottoms Shoe Addiction Cake
This is a cake I made for a beautiful lady who just turned 40. She loves her red bottom shoes and wanted her cake to feature this love interest of hers. She also wanted something very simple but classy at the same time. I thought about this design concept when I stumbled on a Christian Louboutin shopping bag. I initially thought the cake was going to look very plain with just a shopping bag and a shoe, but plain is one thing this cake is not. She loved it absolutely.
The cake itself is the shopping bag and is a 10 x 5 x 7 inch Nigerian style cake frosted with vanilla buttercream frosting. The cake looks small but it really is not. What is lacks in width it makes up in height. All the design work was done with marshmallow fondant.
The shoe is of course the main theme of this cake. There was initially going to be a pair of red bottoms in front of the cake but one of the shoes broke. I decided to make do with the broken shoe and incorporate it in some way in the cake. It turned out great. A tutorial on how I make my stiletto heels can be found here.

Hi Terry,
Just want to know how you got the Louboutin writing on the cake.
I used an online printout to cut out fondant using my 2D fondant method.
