Zebra and Hot Pink Cake
This is a cake I had lots of fun making as it gave me the opportunity of experimenting with different designs. It is a two tier cake designed with zebra print and hot pink details. It was made for the birthday of a lovely princess who just turned 1. The zebra print is of cause the central thyme of this cake and I have a tutorial here on how I make my zebra prints on cakes.
The top tier is a 7 inch red velvet cake frosted with cream cheese frosting. The bottom tier is a 9 inch Nigerian cake frosted with vanilla buttercream. All the design work was done with marshmallow fondant.
The loop bow on top of the cake was made a week before the actual cake was designed as the loops needed to be completely dry before using. You can see how I make my loop bows here. I also have a post here on how I make the cute pink bows on both tiers of the cake.
You can find a detailed tutorial here with step my step pictured explanation on how this cake was made. Below are a few more views of the cake.
