Fondant Bow Tie Tutorial.
This is a tutorial on how to make an easy fondant bow tie. This tie is great on shirt and other fashion style cakes. The tie made here can be changed or improved upon to make ties which will best meet your needs. I have not given any dimensions here as the size of each tie will depend on the need.
TOOLS:
(1) Rolling Pin
(2) Pizza Cutter
(3) Fondant Stitching Wheel
(4) Brush
(5) Ruler
EDIBLE COMPONENTS:
(1) Fondant. I used marshmallow fondant.
(2) Color Paste
(3) Water
PROCEDURE:
Note: You will need to work really fast. If the fondant dries before you are ready to shape it, it might crack or break during shaping.
(1) Color your fondant and roll it out. If you want to create texture on the bow tier, use a ruler and stitching wheel to make horizontal lines on the fondant.
(2) Cut the fondant into a long strip.
(3) Flip the fondant over. Apply water to the middle using a brush and stick both ends in the middle.
(4) Flip the fondant back to the front. Using your fingers, bring the middle together to form a bow.
(5) Cut out a thin strip of fondant and use it to wrap the center of the bow to form a bow tie.
(6) Allow the fondant bow tie to dry properly before sticking it to your cake with some melted chocolate.
These bow ties can also be made in pink and other bright colors and used to decorate several types of cakes.
They can also be made miniature and used as cupcake toppers.
Below are other types of bow ties which you can make:

tanks terry. but kneading d fondant with the crisco , didn’t it affect d texture of d fondant? plus can this be applied to d fondant i want to use in covering a cake?
Queen, kneading dough with crisco makes the fondant smooth and elastic. I would not advice that such fondant be used to drape a cake as I have never tried that before.I only use crisco when I am molding toppers and other elements of a cake.
Nice work dear! I learnt alot. Thanks
You are welcome.
