Panda Family Baby Shower Cake
This is a baby shower cake like none other. It does not look like your everyday baby shower cake which is what I love about it. I got inspiration for this cake from my Flowers in a Wooden Flower Pot Cake. This cake shows a panda family sited on a wooden barrel with a baby panda wrapped in a blanket. I really did enjoy creating this cake and it did have the impact I was gunning for.
The cake itself is a Nigerian Cake frosted with vanilla buttercream. The designs on the cake were made with marshmallow fondant. The cake was painted with ivory color paste to give it a wooden look.
The stars of this cake are of course the pandas. The papa panda is wearing a brown cowboy hat and a tie while the mama panda is draped in a pink gown. A pictorial on how to make these pandas can be found here.
This cake has a pink and white polka dot ribbon and bow in front of it. This gives the cake a very girly look as the baby shower was for a baby girl.
