Spiderman Cake
This cake was made for a young man who loves Spiderman. I was asked to make a sheet cake like my Go Diego go! Cake and I came up with this design. I saw a picture of Spiderman and chose to make a 2D spiderman topper. It was very impressive as people could relate instantly to Spiderman. For a tutorial on how I make my 2D Toppers, click here.
The cake is a 9×13 inch French Vanilla Sponge Cake frosted with Vanilla Buttercream and designed with Marshmallow Fondant. I have a Pictorial here on how I made the Spiderman topper. Do check it out if you want to learn how to make a similar one.
On the front side of the cake is a dilapidated brick wall with some missing bricks, obviously the victim of one of Spiderman’s fierce battles.
I chose to make a Spider as a token for the celebrant to keep. This is actually a replica of the spider that bit Spiderman in the beginning of the series.
Most Spiderman cakes have got the silhouette of a city designed on them. I chose to include this on the top of the cake.
It would be fun to see what a Superman or Batman cake would look like.
