Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Cake
There are some Disney characters that never go out of style, some of those can be found in the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. This cake was made for a young Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fan. This is the second Mickey Mouse inspired cake I am making. The first being a two tiered Mickey Mouse Cake. I have another Mickey Mouse Clubhouse cake which can be found here.
The cakes here are French Vanilla Sponges frosted with Vanilla Buttercream. The designs on the cake were made with Marshmallow Fondant.
The standout piece on the cake is the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Topper. I have a pictorial on how this topper was made which can be found here. A tutorial for a more detailed clubhouse can be found here.
Running through the 2 layers and the cake board are square and diagonal patterns which add some more character to the cake. Also, kids love shapes and patterns
The front of the bottom tier has an opening showing an abstract of mickey mouse’s face. This was the first time I was trying out this open window technique on a cake. The challenge is in ensuring that the inside layer of the opening is a different color.
Bordering the top yellow tier are bubble gums of various colors. I was told that the kids had a lot of fun with these.
The name of the celebrant was placed on the top of the bottom tier of the cake. I chose to write his name in red with white polka dots.
This cake is all about the various primary and secondary colors strategically placed to produce a color blocking theme.
