Bridal Shower Cake with Yellow Flowers
This cake was made for a bride-to-be who loves everything yellow. I was told to do anything I wanted to do, it just had to have some, well, lots of yellow. I came up with this two tired beauty which swept the bride-to-be off her feet so much so that she insisted that I make her wedding cake.
The cake inside this beauty is a French Vanilla Sponge Cake frosted with Vanilla Buttercream. The designs and flowers were made with marshmallow fondant.
This cake has a few details I want to draw your attention to the first of which is the diamond pattern on the top tier. The diamonds in this cake were embedded with white sugar pearls.
The top tier of the cake is also drapped with red fondant with two wedding bands resting on each other. This makes it clear that the cake is for a bridal shower.
The stars of this cake are the bright yellow flowers which are on all four sides of the cake. There are 36 flowers in all. Like my other flowered cakes, the flowers are at various stages of formation from buds to full blooms.
Watch this space for the wedding cake. One thing I can tell you for certain is that it is going to have a lot of…yes…yellow!
