Caramel Sauce
Caramel sauce is a dark brown sugar-based sauce used in various pastries and sweet desserts. It is also a lovely topping for ice cream and cakes like Caramel Cakes (recipe soon). It is easy to make and tastes like, well, caramel.
INGREDIENTS:
(1) 1 Cup Granulated White Sugar (200 Grams)
(2) 3 Tablespoons Water
(3) 1 Tablespoon Corn Syrup
(4) 1 Cup Whipping Cream
PROCEDURE:
(1) Place water, sugar and corn syrup in a small sauce pan and bring to boil on high heat.
NOTE: Do not stir caramel sauce when making it. Occasionally brush the sides of the sauce pan with water to prevent crystallization.
(2) Once the sugar turns a dark amber color, take it off heat and stir in the cold whipping cream with a whisk.
That’s how to make caramel sauce. The sauce will thicken as it cools down.

pls is whipped cream(readymade) the se thing as whipping cream. I have Betty Crocker whipped butter cream frosting. Can I use it?
Hi. No they are not the same. Whipped cream is whipping cream after it has been whipped. You need whipping cream for this recipe.
Can I buy a ready made caramel sauce to improvise?
Maybe you can. I never use ready made stuffs so really can’t say how they react.
Hi Terry, any substitute for whipped cream, not sure I know what it is, neither have I seen it before?
No Ada. I’m not aware of any.
Please terry haven’t seen whipped cream in nigeria anywhere please can it be made at home nd how.
I am not sure it can be made at home. Large groceries stores in Nigeria carry it in cans.
