Cowgirl Cake
This is a very simple, yet elegant cake made for a cowgirl enthusiast. I was shown a picture and asked for a better replication. I tried to do just that.
The cake itself is a Chocolate Butter Cake frosted with Chocolate Buttercream and covered with Marshmallow Fondant.
The horse is the focal point of attention of this cake as everything else happens around the horse. It was made a few days prior to the date the cake was made so as to give it enough time to dry. A tutorial on how to make this horse head can be found here. The horse is surrounded by lovely baby pink flowers on leafy vines. The flowers were also made before hand.
The belt around the cake was my own special touch. This ties the cake more to the cowgirl theme. I decided to make a round copper buckle with the name of the celebrant engraved in it. I am sure this was very much appreciated by her. The cake also had a couple of horse shoes on each side.
Going along with this cake were 24 vanilla and chocolate cupcakes which also had the pink baby flowers used on the cake.
This was a precious one.
