Fondant Conifer Tree Tutorial 3
This is a tutorial on how to make the Conifer tree above. This is a very impressive looking fondant tree which is sure to add a touch of class and realism to your cakes. The process of making this tree is however more cumbersome than other types of conifer trees. For tutorials on how to make easier conifer trees, click here and here.
TOOLS:
(1) Rolling Pin
(2) Daisy Petal Cutter
(3) Paint Brush
EDIBLE COMPONENTS:
(1) Fondant
(2) Water
PROCEDURE:
(1) Color fondant green and shape some into a cone. Leave to air dry for about an hour so it holds shape when touched.
(2) Roll out leftover green fondant and cut out petals using a daisy petal cutter. Pinch the middle of the petals together to form bunches.
(3) Brush the cone with a bit of water and stick the petals to the cone starting from the bottom and working your way all the way to the top. Use the base of the brush to press the center of the petals onto the cone. You will need a lot of petals to cover an average sized cone.
(4) When you are done, transfer finished tree to your cake board or dry for future use.
