This is a tutorial on how to make the fondant trowel above. This trowel was used as an accessory for the Concrete block cake below. The same methods here can be used to make hand shovels and tools of similar nature.

TOOLS:

(1) Rolling Pin

(2) Floral Wire

(3) Sharp Blade/Cutter

(4) Paint Brush

EDIBLE COMPONENTS:

(1) Fondant

(2) Color Pastes

(3) Vodka

(4) Water

(5) Silver Luster Dust

PROCEDURE:

(1) Color fondant ivory and grey. Mold the ivory fondant into a smooth handle. Roll out the grey fondant and cut it into the shape of the blade. You can use a picture as a guide or template to arrive at the perfect shape. Leave both items to air dry for some hours or until they can be handled without losing shape.
