In this post, I will be showing you how I made the ivory blossom cake above. It really is a very simple cake to make and the effect is amazing. During the course of this tutorial, I will be directing you to other tutorials on the website. To see more views of this cake, click here.

THE PROCESS:

(1) First, make the bible topper. A tutorial for this can be found here.

(2) Next, make the flowers. These flowers are very easy to make. Cut out various flower sizes using a rose petal cutter. Use a vainer if you have one or the side of a paint brush to make veins on the petals. Dry the petals on flower drying molds. When they are dry, brush the middle and tip of the petals with pink color dust. Steam the flowers to set the color and leave them to dry some more.

(3) Make the beads for the base of both tiers. I have a tutorial for how I make my beads here. If you have a beads making mold, it might be easier to use that.

(4) Drape both tiers (8 and 10 inches) with ivory fondant. Cover the cake board with white fondant. Stick the bottom tier to the cake board.

(5) Insert dowels into the bottom tier and stack the top tier on it.

(6) Make a two layer cross out of the ivory fondant and stick to the front of the top tier. Brush the bottom layer of the cross with gold luster dust mixed with vodka. Also stick the ivory beads to the base of both tiers.

(7) Stick the bible to the top of the top tier with a bit of fondant underneath the top half to elevate it.

(8) Using melted white chocolate or any gluing agent of your choice, stick the flowers to both tiers.

That’s all there is to it. Happy caking!
