5 Tier Wedding Cake
Two friends of mine were getting married. I asked them casually if I could make their wedding cake. The bride-to-be hesitated a bit but got in touch with me later on and asked if I could make their cake for them. This began the process of exchanging ideas and working out concepts which would best suit their wedding. This cake is the result of months of planning and discussions.
This was my first 5 tier wedding cake and the first time I made a 14 inch round cake tier. The process was quite intimidating but rewarding. Most of the design work including the rose flowers were done with marshmallow fondant. The top and 5th tiers are Nigerian cakes frosted with vanilla buttercream. The 2nd and 4th tiers are red velvet cakes frosted with cream cheese frosting. The 3rd tier is a chocolate butter cake frosted with chocolate buttercream.
I have a tutorial here on how I made the roses.
I have another tutorial here on how the cake was made.

Thanks for the beautiful cake tutorial. Can I use water instead of vodka for d brushing nd if I want to use vodka can I also use gin or WKD Original Vodka Blue
(330ml)
Hi. I will say yes to all but gin.
Hello boss. Whenever I do my frosting at d middle d buttercream melt after a while dont know why dis is happening and can I use cheese frosting with any type of cake. Thanks
It might be due to weather conditions. Try storing your cakes in the fridge. Yes you can use CCF with any type of cake. It works etter with certain types of cakes though.
Ok Thanks. Was thinking it will too cold when d cake stayed too long in d fridge so I usually bring it out 1hr b4 serving. Thank you so much 4 ur reply.
It’s ok to bring it out an hour before serving. I even recommend 3 hrs before serving. The frosting should not melt within that time period.
Thanks dear. Hv got anoda issue do I need d fondant mat to roll my fondant becos it’s sometimes difficult for me to cover my cake easily with d marshmallow. fondant it just keeps breaking. Most I frost my cake 2times b4 covering with fondant wat of if d owner of d cake doesn’t want too much of d buttercream. Thanks
While you do not need a fondant mat, a fondant mat is best for rolling fondant. Fondants do break and tear. I myself have to try a couple of times to cover cakes properly.
